The Bahamas at a Glance

The Bahamas is a bucket-list dive destination known for crystal-clear waters and underwater landscapes. With more than 700 islands and 2,400 cays, divers can explore everything from colorful reefs and dramatic walls to tunnels, caverns, and shipwrecks surrounded by marine life.

Why Divers Love It

  • 150–200 feet of visibility
  • Diverse dive environments, including walls, tunnels, caverns, and wrecks
  • Home to the third-largest reef system in the world
  • Encounters with sharks, groupers, rays, and tropical fish
  • Remote dive sites accessible by liveaboard

Location

The Bahamas is located southeast of Florida in the Caribbean region. The island chain includes more than 700 islands, though only about 30 are inhabited. Central Bahamas offers remote dive sites, deserted beaches, and untouched underwater environments that can be reached by dive liveaboard.

What Our Customers Say

"The Blackbeard's liveaboard was an awesome experience! More like camping on the sea than a cruise! Such a unique experience that I'd do again in a heartbeat" - Jefferson Davis

Meet Your Trip Leader

Christian Hanson

Store Staff. Trip Leader.

I have been a fan of Gypsy Divers ever since getting my Open Water Certification in the summer of 2017. I had a great time with my instructor Billy and have been an avid diver ever since.

Christian went on many snorkeling adventures with his family before taking the plunge into the world of diving. You can usually find him at a local pool hall if he is not in the water or at the shop. He is always happy to help and talk with anyone who walks in!

Christian, one of our staff members, is standing in front of the pool doors wearing a blue polo and a smile.
