Kevin’s connection to the water started early. Growing up in Nebraska, a mask and snorkel opened his eyes to a new world beneath the docks of a local sandpit, sparking an early fascination with life underwater. That curiosity stayed with him into adulthood, and in 2018, after moving to Thailand, he began his journey as a dive professional.
With a background as an English teacher, Kevin enjoys applying his passion for instruction and watching students gain confidence and make rapid progress underwater in just a few short days. He finds teaching just as rewarding as diving itself.
While in Thailand, Kevin expanded into technical and overhead diving, which have become some of his favorite types of underwater exploration. As part of the BottomLine Projects team, he made small contributions to the discovery of Thailand’s first diveable mines and the country’s longest known diveable cave—experiences that far exceeded anything he imagined as a kid peering under that dock in Nebraska.
In 2023, Kevin returned to the U.S. and joined A1 Scuba in Colorado, now Diventures Denver, where he works in retail, teaches classes, and supports marketing efforts. From aquarium dives to mountain lakes, Colorado has brought new adventures, but he’s always looking forward to being back in the ocean—where he feels most at home.
